Adelaide's Adventure in Stitches

On Tuesday the 14th Adelaide was playing as usual. Pillows on the floor, running around the couches and playing on the little green bench. I was sitting at the table and all the sudden Adelaide is screaming. I thought she had just bumped her head or more likely that Gwen was beating up on her. I looked over and saw she was bleeding. I rushed her to the bathroom and got some tissue. The cut was right on the end of her eyebrow. It looked deep so I decided to call the pediatrician and take her in. I was so grateful to have David around. He watched Gwen so I could focus on Adelaide. By the time we got in the car the bleeding had stopped. She was in good spirits but didn't want to go to the doctor. We got into our room and the nurse confirmed my suspicion she would need stitches. Adelaide was amazing! She laid still and didn't cry. I was so proud of her. The doctor was even impressed with how good she was. I partly credit it to the Cinderella movie and Pocky sticks!

New Family Photos

Today we headed to FotoFly and had some awesome family pictures done. I really loved the whole experience. Our photographer was so energetic and playful with the girls. It was the best deal!
Here are a few (ok a lot) of my favorites.

July Happenings

We've been having a fun July. Swimming at Seven Peaks, playing around the house with Uncle David, celebrating Kaylie Faye's birthday, enjoying a free meal at Chick Fil-a and playing in our yard aka Adelaide's park.

Happy Fourth!

We headed down to Manti to celebrate Independence day. We love staying with Gavin and Amy. Not only do we stay in total comfort, but we also get to be with our best friends. We headed to the city park for breakfast. Pancakes, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Then we played some carnival games, ate Gelati, and Adelaide had her face painted. That night we had a BBQ with the family and watched fireworks from Gavin and Amy's front lawn. We had a wonderful time and hate leaving. Until next time.

Evacuation

A week ago on Thursday we experienced a fire on the mountain by our homes. By Friday morning it was bad enough that the sheriffs asked our neighborhood to evacuate. It was funny because I was doing a friends hair, I had just put in the last bleach foil and we hear the sirens and loud speaker telling us to evacuate. We had been talking about being prepared moments before and how we both weren't. Well she ran home with foils in her hair and I started getting shoes on Adelaide, packing random clothes and waking up Gwen. I made sure to have everything for the girls but poor Richard and I were left with only clean garments. If I have learned anything it's that I will be ready next time. Lucky for us we had family we could stay with, Seven Peaks passes to swim and our home was safe and unharmed from the fire and smoke. Here are a few pictures from our front porch, and driving home from the store.
