Another First Birthday Party?

Since we were in Washington for Adelaide's birthday we decided to throw her a party in Utah. A big thanks to Gavin and Amy for letting us use their wonderful home. Also to everyone that came and helped out. Adelaide made out with some great gifts. All in all it was a success.

We were a bit messier with our cupcake this time. I like the last picture with the thumbs up!

Cute Kaylie was having a blast!

I feel like this picture shows that sometimes Adelaide looks like me. We have very similar expressions.

So many fun new toys and cute clothes. Thanks again family and friends.

These two are so fun together. Adelaide is sporting her first pioneer hat that came from Nauvoo. Thanks Grandpa Swasey.

Washington Vacation

We spent the first part of April in Washington visiting Richard's family. It was so fun to be there and celebrate Easter, Grandma Murdock's Birthday and Adelaide's first birthday. For Easter we helped the Easter Bunny fill over 250 plastic eggs and hide them in the backyard. All the Grandkids came over and after dinner went hunting. It was so fun! We celebrated Grandma Murdock's birthday with yummy carrot cake. Then came Adelaide's first birthday party. We threw it a couple days before the actual day. Everyone came and Adelaide ended up sleeping threw the first half. When she woke up we had a dance party and opened present. She got a cute yarn doll from her cousin Jayne, a telephone from Robert's family, a book from Jessica's family and a handmade Touch and See book from Grandma. It was quite a haul. I can't believe that I have a one year old. She is so fun and happy. We have a pretty good time together and I'm so thankful that I can spend my days with her. Hope you enjoy the pictures below.

Here we are saying "Cheese"

Decorations! We had so much fun coming up with the decorations. So much so that we think it would be great to be party planners. Anyone want to hire us?

Yummy mini cupcakes

Cute Cousins

It's my party and I'll sleep if I want too!

Love that Mom of mine

The other night I did my mom's hair. We did a cut and color. You can check out my hair blog for more pictures and details. My mom is funny. For as long as I can remember she has hated her picture being taken. When I was younger she would actually get mad and walk away if you pulled out a camera. The funny part is that she wants lots of pictures of her at her funeral (which is not soon by any means). So in these later years I tease her that we would actually need to be able to take a picture of her, if she wants them around at the very distant funeral. Suffice it say she is allowing more pictures to be taken of her. This one below I told her to think of it as her death picture. I'm not sure either of us knows what that is, but I got a great smile from her. I love you mom! You are beautiful.

Some Pictures

Richard the talented man that he is made this flower for me. Adelaide loves to play with it too.
She is just so darn cute.

Oh Sweet Release!

Today I had my braces removed. I can't express how happy this made me. While it was a bit of a painful process to have them removed I am glad to be rid of them. It was the longest year and 8 months my mouth has ever known. So without further ado I give you the before and afters.
You may remember these pictures from when I first had the braces put on.
This was me this morning.
and this is me now. Ta Da! Many people have asked if it was worth it and I have to say yes.

11 months

Here we are again. One month later and one more to go until our little lady is a year old. Where does the time go? I was telling Richard that it feels like yesterday that I was going into labor and heading for the hospital. He didn't agree, but no more on the past or the future let's get to the present.

I love taking pictures of this little girl. She makes me smile.
This past month has been an interesting one. Adelaide got sick (not like a cold sick, but sick sick) for the first time. It was not a fun experience for anyone, especially her.
We made it through and all is well again.
Some of her favorite things at the moment:
1. Saying "Da  Da" everything is Da Da, but mostly Richard.
2. Walking around furniture and standing on her own.
3. Bath time. We head into the bathroom at night and her little face just lights up.
4. The craft room (see previous post)
5. Kix cereal
6. Signing she knows milk (her top sign), water, and more. We are learning book and please.
7. Grandma and Grandma's phone.
Once a week my mom comes out and Adelaide loves playing with her.
8. Music and dancing. We will have to get a video of this because it is so cute and funny.
9. Lids she loves to put lids on anything that has a lid.
10. Magnets, they are a staple for entertainment.
11. Books she loves looking at the pictures, being read to and reading them in her own little way.

Crafting 101

This morning I was in the craft room with my little lady. I was making a card and Adelaide was making this...
She was showing me how to get started. Basically you just pull out everything you own and mix it around the floor. She was so pleased with herself.

Until she saw mama's face, then she was like "What? This is how you craft."

And then of course you leave everything out and run away.
Hope you enjoyed Adelaide's Crafting 101.
Have a nice day!
