Baby Bump

You requested pictures. I was going to be very good and take a picture each month, but it took a long time for me to show and then I mostly just feel chubby not pregnant. Plus with the holiday's things just got busy. So far I only have a picture of me at four months and now at six and half months. I will be better and catch the rest of the growing bump.

Oatmeal Delights!

Richard as many of you might know has a bit of a sweet tooth. In order to keep my dear husband satisfied I try and make some of his favorite recipes. One of them is a cookie recipe called Oatmeal Delights. I've added a few additions to this wonderful oatmeal cookie. You should try it sometime.

2 c. Quick cooking Oats
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Bre's additions
1/2 - 1 c. Chocolate chips
1/2 - 1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 - 1 c. raisins
*Richard's favorite shredded coconut on top. It get all toasted in the oven.

Basically with this recipe you can play around. I've tired dried cranberries, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter chips. I also used quaker oats instant oatmeal Apple Cinnamon packets instead of the regular oats. Adds a yummy apple flavor. Have fun and let me know what works best for you.

Preheat oven to 350

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well mixed, occasionally scraping the bowl. Drop on sheet 3 in. apart. Bake at 350 for 11-15 minutes, depending on desired browning. Cool on racks. (for a slight variation you can put the oats into a blender and blend them up into an oat flour.)

Christmas in Washington

This Christmas Richard and I once again headed to Selah, Washington (Richard's hometown). It was quite the trip. We were first delayed in Salt Lake 4 hours because of weather. We flew into Seattle just in time to miss our flight to Yakima. Of course that was the last flight to Yakima that night. The airline gave us a discount to the Marriot, so we did not have to spend the night in a cold, busy and frustrating airport. Our stay at the hotel turned out to be very nice. Breakfast was ridiculously expensive though. We caught our flight the next day and made it to Selah safe and sound. As part of a growing tradition we helped the grandkids make gingerbread houses. They all did a wonderful job. Christmas morning came bright and early. We enjoyed a warm french toast breakfast and then opened gifts. My favorite by far was a memory game Richard made me. It features pictures of us from our first date all the way to Adelaide's first photo. It brought a tear to my eye. He is so wonderful and thoughtful. Richard opened a couple of presents before we left. I think he was pretty excited about his new games. The rest of our trip was spent having family dinners, playing games, watching movies and snow lots of snow. New Year's we munched and danced at Robert's house and played games. I still can't believe another year has flown by. It was a great one though and I'm so grateful for all my many blessings. This year will be just as wonderful I'm sure. Christmas Wreath

So far this year we (or Richard) have made a wreath for each holiday. I could just kick myself for not thinking to take pictures earlier.

At least we have one of our Christmas wreath. Richard used strips of paper, a cardboard circle and hung it with ribbon. Festive and budget friendly! I have such a cool husband.

Temple Square and Gingerbread Houses!

Hello friends and family! It's the most wonderful time of year. Remembering our Savior's birth, sharing special moments with friends and family, trips to the mall, snow (hopefully soon), decorating, Temple Square lights and making gingerbread houses. This year Richard and I attended the lights with Gavin, Amy, and Schaara. It was really busy and cold, but we had a good time.

On Monday we had FHE with our same friends. Gavin made real gingerbread and we all had a blast decorating our houses. This is Richard's and mine. It features a light post, Snowman, sour skittle lights, peppermint kiss chimney with smoke, a Christmas tree with lights and much much more. We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
