Adelaide's Interests

Adelaide is quite the 2 year old. Naturally I'm biased, but I think she is AMAZING! So talented and creative. I want to share a few things with you, that Adelaide likes.

First, playing dress up, with dolls, and doll houses. One day while Richard and I were looking on Pinterest Adelaide spotted some doll houses. From then on we did not hear one word that didn't involve "I want a doll house". This young lady is very persistent, and daddy is easy to sway.

She was a very happy girl.
Now if only we could get a little boy doll (hint hint Amy).

One of her new loves is scissors and cutting paper into tiny pieces. She could sit for hours cutting paper. Makes a mess, but is great when I want to craft a bit.

Adelaide is a budding photographer. She got a hold of the camera the other day and here is the result.

She did these all by herself. I think they turned out pretty cool.

And finally, Adelaide loves to draw, paint and color. She has recently taught herself how to draw people. Today she did a self-portrait. I am just awed that she is able to do this already. Maybe it's not that big of deal, but I don't know to many two year olds that can draw like this.

10 months

Our little baby is 10 months old! WOW! I can't believe in two months we will have a one year old. Gwen is so much fun. She loves to put things away. She will pick up a toy and find a basket, box or whatever she can to put it in. She also likes the garbage, this I am not so happy about. She will pull things out and either try to get it to her mouth or push it around on the floor. Gwen is an eater! What a change. She loves just about everything, except avocados, and eggs. She is working on her top two teeth and we all can't wait until they show up. She is still zooming around on her knees, but loves to walk the furniture. Her favorite game is Peek-a-boo, she usually puts her hands on the sides of her head, but sometimes get one eye covered. She laughs and thinks that no one can see her until she puts her hands down. She continues to bring light and joy to our home.

This photo shoot was great! She usually pulls off headbands the moment I put them on, but not today. Also she loves books! I didn't even have to stage this she was just in there looking through them and I grabbed the camera. I know the picture quality isn't great on some of them, but I'm no professional and just point and shoot. I love them no matter what, because of the sweet face.

Christmas 2011

This year we celebrated Christmas in our own home. It was a wonderful time with family and friends. Christmas Eve morning we opened presents and had my Mom, Stepdad, Dad and his girlfriend Teresa over for our traditional French Toast Strata with Maple Apple topping. The girls were spoiled by everyone. Richard was a hard working elf once again. He made a cradle for Adelaide's dolls, a rocking horse, step stool, and lots of puzzles. It was fun to see Adelaide be so excited. Her favorite present was the princess bubbles. That was all she could talk about and all she wanted to do. After breakfast and gifts we packed up the car and headed down to Manti. This year we stayed with Gavin and Amy in their new home. It was beautiful! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and loving friends to spend the holidays with. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, filled with the Savior, family and friends.

 My alter-ego

 Adelaide got a chest full of Disney princess dress up clothes. Naturally we all had to try them.

 These pictures are blurry, but when taken from a mailbox on a timer you take what you get. We are so grateful for these two. Without them there would be no us.

I've seen that face before...

Gwen is 9 months! I'm a bad mama and missed taking pictures of her at 8 months. Sad I know, but life gets busy. Since 7 months she has continued to move right along. She is still crawling all over the place. Standing and moving along furniture is now at the top of her list. The drawers in the kitchen are her new favorite thing, especially the bottom one with all the measuring cups and spoons. She loves food! Such a happy change from her sister. We have started table foods with her. She prefers to feed herself and I have decided that is the best way to go no matter how big a mess she makes. We are still working on saying "Mama" and "Dada, but she can wave Hi and clap. We are signing a bit too, mainly "milk". Gwen is my little monster, because she is constantly growling and blowing raspberries. She continues to bring joy and happiness to our home.

You may think you have already seen this post. I just loved the snow baby pictures of Adelaide around this age and had to do it with Gwen.

 I love that you can see her little teeth on the bottom. Hopefully the top ones will poke through soon, because she can be pretty sensitive lately.

 These next two she got a hold of the camera strap and thought it was the best thing ever!

 Yes I posted the same picture in color and black and white. I just love those baby blues and thought the black and white was gorgeous!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

After we got back from Washington we packed up the Fall decor and brought out Christmas. We've been decorating ever since, adding a little here and a little there. So far no casualties with the Christmas tree, but the month is young. Richard did a great job decorating the tree. I always think we are going to have to many on the tree, but he always makes it look beautiful. He took some pictures of the girls in front of it and as always they look pretty cute. Adelaide helped put the candy canes on. She loves decorating. Gwen loves pulling the bell ornaments off. She loves re-decorating.

 I made Richard buy a shelf for our stockings. We really needed some thing on the wall. He made the little village last year and this year made cotton ball snow chains. I loved the tree reflecting in the TV. If you look close you can spot Santa flying over the village.

 I know this picture is over processed, but I liked how it turned out. It's kind of vintage. Maybe that's just my opinion.

 Adelaide loves to climb up on the couch cushions and get the chocolate out of our little advent calendar. She looks at me and says in the sweetest little voice, "Chocolate chip?" for some reason we keep missing chocolates. She's pretty sneaky. Richard made our monogramed burlap pillow. It's so cute! I'm so grateful I married a talented, crafty guy.

 I'm a bad mother. I never took pictures of Gwen at 8 months. Hopefully she forgives me. I love this picture, she has learned to clap. She is such a happy girl.

 We made our gingerbread house with Granmama and Pompa Williams. Adelaide fell asleep and missed the whole thing, but Richard and I had fun with them. Plus the house turned out fabulous.

 Here are a few pictures of the outside of the house. Though you can't tell we have lights on the house. They line the edge all the way up to the roof. Let me just tell you that was a scary experience. Richard was crab walking on the roof while I stood on the porch roof holding the ladder. He just kept saying "Bre, I love you". Ha now we know why people leave their lights on their houses. I made our wreath and decorated the basket on the house.
